Rebel Rebel Hair Studio is a coworking hair salon in Watford, created for independent hairdressers who want to rent a hairdressing chair while running their own businesses with complete freedom.
On 21st September, we will be moving from our current three-chair studio near Bushey Station to a new salon at Verve Spaces, a creative hub in North Watford. The new space will give us room for two additional hairdressing sections, two YUV Colour Labs and a dedicated area for taking photos, relaxing or catching up on work.
Although we are moving to a larger space, Rebel Rebel will still feel personal, calm and welcoming. The new salon will have the same relaxed atmosphere, plenty of plants and the supportive environment we are known for along with some very welcome air-conditioning.
Working at Rebel Rebel means setting your own hours, managing your own diary and deciding how you want to run your business. You can work alongside other like-minded independent hairdressers while still having the freedom to do things your own way.
Until 21st September, we will continue working from our current studio in Oxhey Village.
What is Included in the Chair Rental Price
Renting a chair at Rebel Rebel Hair Studio includes everything you need to work comfortably and professionally.
Every independent hairdresser has access to a styling station with a large mirror, hydraulic chair and trolley. You will have gowns, disposable towels and refreshments for you and your clients, as well as a stocked backbar with shampoo and conditioner. There is super fast Wi Fi so your clients can work from the salon if they wish. In addition, lockers are available for your equipment, which makes it easy to keep everything safe.
We take care of eco friendly waste management, and our green fee ensures every stylist automatically works more sustainably. That includes recycling foils and colour tubes, composting hair and reducing single use waste wherever possible. As well as this, we make sure our systems are simple, so you can focus on your clients.
Optional extras are available too. For a small daily fee, you can use the professional styling products stocked in the salon. Retail products from ELEVEN Australia and Glowwa are also available to purchase at cost price, giving you the option to retail them through your own independent business. You are equally welcome to bring and sell your own preferred products
The YUV Colour Lab can provide you with your colour instead of carrying stock.
Everything is optional, so you remain free to choose the brands and systems that suit your business.

Chair Rental Pricing
Our pricing is simple and transparent. It is designed to give independent hairdressers flexibility to choose what works best for them. For example, you might want a regular reserved chair or you may prefer occasional ad hoc days. Either way, there is an option to suit your business.
£60 per day for 5 days a week (reserved chair)
£70 per day for 2 to 4 days a week (reserved chair)
£75 per day for 1 day a week (reserved chair)
£80 per day for ad hoc use (booking required)
Each stylist has full access to the space from 8am to 8pm on their rental days. This means you have complete freedom to set your own hours and services.

The studio has eco conscious systems already in place, so your business becomes more sustainable the moment you start working here. Therefore, choosing to work from our studio helps you reduce your impact on the planet without any extra effort.
Location and Convenience
From 21st September, the studio will be based at Verve Spaces, a creative hub in North Watford. The new location is easy to reach from Watford and the surrounding areas, with street parking and public car parks nearby. It will give independent hairdressers a professional and welcoming base from which to look after their existing clients and continue growing their businesses.
