Rebel Rebel Finalists Again at the Salon Awards 2025
Looking Back at Last Year
When we entered the Salon Awards for the very first time last year, we honestly did not expect to reach the finals. Rebel Rebel Hair Studio is not a traditional salon. We are a boutique coworking hair studio in Watford (just near Bushey Station), created to support freelance hairdressers. To our surprise, we finalised and went on to win Most Sustainable Salon and Best Salon in Hertfordshire.
Recognised Again in 2025
Finalising again this year feels just as special. The recognition shows how much Rebel Rebel has grown as a boutique coworking hair studio. It proves that creating a space designed for freelance hairdressers, while staying committed to sustainability, is something worth celebrating within the industry.
Building a Sustainable Coworking Salon
Sustainability shapes everyday life at Rebel Rebel. Our YUV refillable colour lab reduces packaging waste through its circular economy system and also allows hairdressers to avoid wholesale shopping if they prefer. We use biodegradable towels and EcoHeads shower heads to save both water and energy. Waste goes to Green Salon Collective and TerraCycle, alongside many other small steps that help keep the studio eco-conscious.
Celebrating Individual Talent
This year also brings an extra reason to celebrate. Lottie, one of the independent hairdressers who works from the studio five days a week, has reached the finals for Textured Hair Stylist of the Year. Her achievement inspires everyone around her. It also highlights the value of creating a space where self-employed hairdressers can grow their businesses while still feeling part of a community.
Looking Forward to the Salon Awards
The Salon Awards night always brings such excitement. It gives us a chance to celebrate the hair industry, enjoy some well-deserved glamour, and connect with talented people across the profession. Last year’s event was an incredible night, and we cannot wait to get dressed up and do it all again.
