A Moment to Remember
Back in July, we received some news that left me feeling quite overwhelmed. Rebel Rebel Hair Studio finalised in not one, but two categories at the Pro Hair Awards 2025. We are finalists for Professional Sustainable Salon of the Year and Professional Co-Working Space of the Year.
I was sitting in London on a hair colouring course when the email came through. It stopped me in my tracks. Only six salons across the country reach the finals in each category. To see our three-chair boutique coworking hair studio in Watford (just near Bushey Station) listed alongside some of the most incredible salons in the UK is something I will never forget.
Why It Feels So Special
This recognition feels like such a big achievement. I feel proud beyond words to see Rebel Rebel standing shoulder to shoulder with salons I have admired for years.
For me, this is about more than awards. It reflects everything we have built over the last three years. We created a boutique coworking salon to support freelance hairdressers and designed it with sustainability in mind. Our YUV refillable colour lab reduces packaging waste through its circular economy system and gives stylists the option never to shop at wholesale again if they prefer. We also use biodegradable towels and EcoHeads shower heads to save both water and energy. Waste goes to Green Salon Collective and TerraCycle, along with many other smaller measures that keep the studio eco-conscious.
Looking Forward to Awards Night
The awards take place in a couple of weeks in London, and I can’t wait to get dressed up for a fabulous evening. More than anything, I look forward to being surrounded by inspiring people from across our industry. To share that space and celebrate what hairdressing can be is an honour in itself.
No matter what happens on the night, I already feel proud of everything we have achieved. Finalising for these awards proves just how far we have come, and it makes me excited for everything still ahead.
