Watford Hair Salon with 2 finalists in the FHA Awards

Sarah and Lottie Finalist in the FHA Awards 2026

This Sunday, Rebel Rebel Hair Studio in Watford will be heading to the Freelance Hairdressing Awards with not one finalist, but two.

Sarah Daglish has been shortlisted for Colourist of the Year and Lottie Bates has been shortlisted for Texture Stylist of the Year. Lottie won the same award in 2025, making this her second consecutive year as a finalist.

Whatever happens on the night, we’re incredibly proud.

The FHA Awards celebrate independent hairdressers who are building successful careers on their own terms. The categories recognise specialists who are passionate about what they do, continually develop their skills and make a real difference to their clients.

Having two finalists feels especially meaningful because it reflects exactly what Rebel Rebel Hair Studio was created to be.

What are the FHA AWards

The FHA Awards are organised by the Freelance Hairdressers Association, a membership organisation that supports independent and self employed hairdressers across the UK.

While the awards are held annually to celebrate the talent, creativity and professionalism of freelance hairdressers, the FHA is so much more than an awards event. Members have access to insurance, education, business support and a community of like minded hairdressers.

The awards themselves take place during Inspire!, the FHA’s flagship event and a highlight of the freelance hairdressing calendar. Inspire! brings together hairdressers from across the UK for a day of education, live demonstrations, networking and celebration before the winners are announced.

We’re proud to support organisations that champion independent hairdressers and help them build successful businesses.

A hair Salon Built Around Individuality

When the salon opened in 2022, the vision wasn’t to create a salon where everyone worked in the same way.

Instead, the aim was to create a beautiful co working space where independent hairdressers could focus on what they do best and build businesses around their own passions and specialisms.

We believe clients benefit from working with people who genuinely love the services they offer and who continue to learn, grow and evolve throughout their careers.

Seeing two independent hairdressers recognised nationally for their expertise feels like a wonderful reflection of that.

Sarah Daglish, Colourist of the Year Finalist

Over the years, Sarah has become known for helping women whose hair is changing, whether that’s covering grey, softening it, improving hair health or finding colour that feels right for this stage of life.

Working one to one, she takes time to understand each client’s concerns and create tailored colour solutions that suit their hair, lifestyle and long term goals.

Sarah is passionate about education and is always looking for new ways to support her clients, whether that’s through colour, treatments, scalp care or advice they can take home with them.

Being shortlisted for Colourist of the Year is recognition of the care, knowledge and experience she brings to her clients every day.

Lottie Bates, Texture Stylist of the Year Finalist

Lottie specialises in textured hair and is passionate about helping clients understand and embrace their curls and natural texture.

She loves educating her clients, giving them the confidence to care for their hair at home and helping them achieve styles that work for their lifestyle.

After winning Texture Stylist of the Year in 2025, we’re incredibly proud to see Lottie shortlisted once again this year. It’s a reflection of the passion, dedication and expertise she brings to her work every day.

Looking Forward to Sunday

Looking Forward to Sunday

Inspire! is always a highlight of the year, bringing together independent hairdressers from across the UK to learn, connect and celebrate the profession.

This year feels especially exciting, with two finalists from Rebel Rebel Hair Studio.

The nominations are a reflection of the passion, dedication and expertise that exist within the salon and everything Rebel Rebel Hair Studio was created to support.

Whatever happens on Sunday, it promises to be a fantastic day and everyone is looking forward to celebrating at Inspire!
