Rebel Rebel Hair Studio Is Opening a Larger Salon in North Watford
We have some exciting news. On 21st September 2026, Rebel Rebel Hair Studio will open the doors to our new salon in a brand new creative building called Verve Spaces in North Watford.
Until then, we are still open and working from our current salon in Oxhey Village. All appointments up to and including 20th September will take place there as usual.
We are moving together and taking everything people already know and love about Rebel Rebel with us.

The next chapter for Rebel Rebel
Rebel Rebel began as a salon created specifically for independent hairdressers.
I wanted to create the kind of place many of us wished had existed when we first became self-employed. Somewhere you could run your own business, make your own decisions and look after your own clients, without feeling as though you were working completely alone.
Over time, Rebel Rebel has developed into a supportive co-working salon where independent hairdressers work alongside each other while continuing to run their own individual businesses.
We are now ready for the next chapter.
Our new hair salon will allow us to add another two styling sections, welcome new independent hairdressers and give everyone a little more space to work comfortably.
It will still have the relaxed, personal feel that is so important to us. We are not trying to create a huge or overcrowded salon. We simply want to give the people working here and their clients a better space to enjoy.
Why we are moving
We have created something we are incredibly proud of in Oxhey Village, but we have reached the point where we need a little more room to continue developing it.
The new salon will allow us to create five comfortable styling sections, rather than the three we currently have.
It will also give us space for hairdressers to take photographs of their finished work, somewhere comfortable to sit away from the main sections and more room for the practical things that help the salon run smoothly.
Most importantly, it gives us the opportunity to grow without losing the feeling that makes Rebel Rebel what it is.
What will stay the same
Although our surroundings will be changing, the way Rebel Rebel works will stay the same.
Every hairdresser working at Rebel Rebel in Watford will continue to be independently self-employed. They will manage their own clients, appointments, services, prices and working hours.
We are not a traditional salon where everyone works for one business. Rebel Rebel is a shared professional space where independent hairdressers can build their own businesses while working alongside other people who understand what self-employment is really like.
The supportive atmosphere will also remain a huge part of who we are.
We help each other, share knowledge and work well alongside one another, while everyone still has the freedom to run their business in the way that works for them.
Our commitment to making more environmentally responsible choices will continue too, including our work with the Green Salon Collective and our efforts to reduce waste throughout the salon.

The things we already love about Rebel Rebel
The move is not about leaving behind what we have already created. It is about taking the best parts of Rebel Rebel with us and giving them a new home.
We will continue to provide many of the things that make working independently easier, including professional facilities, laundry, cleaning, waste management, storage and the option to use our salon products.
We already have two YUV Colour Labs, giving independent hairdressers access to a wide choice of professional hair colours without needing to buy and store large amounts of stock.
Hairdressers can use YUV when it suits their business, while still having the freedom to work with their own preferred colour brand.
What the new salon will give us
Two additional styling sections
The new salon will allow us to increase from three styling sections to five.
This means we can welcome another two independent hairdressers without making the salon feel crowded or impersonal.
More space to work comfortably
There will be more breathing room around the styling sections, giving hairdressers space to work and helping clients feel comfortable during their appointments.
A dedicated place for photographs
Hairdressers will have a separate space where they can take photographs of their finished work without trying to find a suitable corner of the salon.
Somewhere to sit and relax
There will also be a comfortable area away from the main styling sections where hairdressers can sit, take a break or catch up on some work.
Air-conditioning
After several very warm summers in our current salon, we are very pleased that the new space will have air-conditioning.
Storage
Regular hairdressers will continue to have access to storage, allowing them to keep the tools and products they need at the salon instead of carrying everything backwards and forwards.
A salon designed around independent hairdressers
Everything we do at Rebel Rebel is based on the practical reality of running an independent hairdressing business.
It is about having a professional place to welcome your clients, the facilities and products you need and people around you who understand what it is like to work for yourself.
Being self-employed gives you freedom, but it can sometimes feel isolating.
Rebel Rebel offers a middle ground where you can work for yourself without having to work completely by yourself.
Our new salon will allow us to continue building on that idea, while keeping the welcoming and personal atmosphere we have already created.
When are we moving?
Rebel Rebel Hair Studio will remain open in Oxhey Village up to and including 20th September 2026.
Our new North Watford salon will open on 21st September 2026.
Appointments before the move will continue to take place at our current salon. Appointments from 21st September onwards will take place at the new location.
